Selected Topic: Allah Exists Without a Place (Islamic Sciences)

“Some of our companions used as a proof to refute the place to Allah the saying of the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam : ‘You are adh-Dhahir and there is nothing above You, and You are al-Batin and there is nothing underneath You.’ Therefore, if there is nothing above Him and nothing underneath Him, He is not in a place.”

 Selected Topic: US media.

“I think someone said that the US media is biased against Islam and or the “war”. After the discussion it was sort of agreed that your average journalist was probably OK – it was the owners who were biasing the press against Islam and or the “war”. I looked it up on Wikipedia (as you do) and the owner of CNN (up till quite recently) was anti-war and indeed he is on record of saying “I can’t see what is wrong with Iran having nuclear weapons”. Thus, as CNN is such a huge NEWS broadcaster, I can’t see this War bias that you mention… However, the owner was incredibly anti-religion (especially Christian) so I can see how being “anti-islam” can get confused with “anti-war” – the two are very different news items.”

Selected Topic: Muslim Passion for Christ.

In Islamic parlance, Jesus (peace be upon him) is known by the venerable titles of “Word” and “Spirit,” since the Quran tells us that God cast the “word” or “spirit” upon Mary, the Mother of Jesus. “Indeed, the angels said: ‘O Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in this world and the Hereafter, and he shall be among those brought near [to God]. He will speak to humankind in the cradle and in manhood, and he is of the righteous” (Quran, 3:45). The thought life of a Muslim with regard to all the prophets is best summed by the following verse of the Quran “Say [O believers]: “We believe in God and [the Book] sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes; and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to [all] the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him do we surrender ourselves” (Quran 2:136).
